Description
Princesses are a fascinating subject in the world of Triang. We are blessed with fabulous books on the subject notably by Mr Pat Hammond who gives such a detailed history. After 1959 , the model was “rated” an Class 8P instead of 7P. Thus I can identify this particular example as either a 1961 or 1962 model because of the sintered drive wheels. The only difference between the two years are a slight difference in the design of the safety valves . As you can see its powered by an X04 motor and fitted with Type III couplings and is a good clean example with just a little loss of lining and loose but functional draw bar on the tender.
Mr Hammond also tells us that 90% of princesses were sold in sets which is an interesting little snippet of information.
Boxes are shelf worn . The tender box missing 2 inner flaps one end and an end flap that has been repaired.
The model has been lightly lubricated, the wheels cleaned and I have replaced the missing corrugated card insert and wrapped her in some nice new yellow tissue being in keeping with all things triang!
